Blythewood South Carolina is a growing town in Fairfield and Richland counties in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It is part of the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan Area, also known as the midlands.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.3 km²), of which, 3.2 square miles (8.2 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (1.86%) is water.
Growth
The town of Blythewood, SC has been going through a growth spurt with the Lake Carolina and Long Creek Plantation master planned communities.
Blythewood families attend Round Top Elementary, Lake Carolina Elementary, Bethel-Hanberry Elementary, Blythewood Middle School, Kelly Mill Middle, and Blythewood High schools. There are three schools in the planning stages that are to be opened in the next 5 years. They are, Langford Elementary, Middle School #7 (no name yet) and High School #5 (no name yet) All of these schools are Award Winning Richland Two Schools with Lake Carolina, Bethel- Hanberry, Round Top Elementary, Blythewood Middle earning Palmetto Finest.
